After progressing on two consecutive penalty shoot outs against Kireka United and Premier League Side Tororo United it wasn't third time lucky for the Purple Sharks who were ejected out of the Uganda Cup on Sunday 10-03-2019 by their out rivals in the Big League Kyetume Fc 4:1 on penalties after the game ended goalless even after extra time.
Wakiso Giants will rue their missed chances that they failed to take in normal time, but Kyetume Fc will have their Goalkeeper to thank for a couple of brilliant saves to deny the Purple Sharks to swim into the Semi-finals of the Stanbic Uganda Cup
As the game was coming to a close Kirya sent on Mamsoor Mutumba in place of Yasin Mugabi but the former Express FC custodian could not live up to the billing as Kyetume scored all their spot kicks with Denis Lubowa, Ibrahim Kazindula, Sande and Veteran attacking midfielder Vincent Kayizi all striking the back of the net.
Only Ivan Kiwewa converted for Wakiso but Clinton Kamugisha and James Kasibante all managed only to find the goalkeeper's gloves instead of the back of the net.
Victory sees Kyetume FC join Bright Stars who required a Brian Kayanja goal to overcome Nebbi Central 1-0 on Saturday, in the semi finals.
The Purple Sharks will seek revenge against Kyetume FC after the International break when they meet in the Big League
