Proline beat Vipers on and off the Pitch


Bonyo Celebrating the winner against Vipers

The thrilling encounter at the Star times stadium between Proilne and Vipers was an exciting encounter for the fans as Proline beat Vipers 2:1 after extra time.

Through out the 90 minutes Proline got the lead through their captain Noordin Bunjo after 25 minutes , as the second half resumed Vipers pushed for an equalizer with numerous attacks but their efforts paid off later in the 60th minute as their captain Tadeo Lwanga headed from a well taken corner.

After the equalizer Proline didn't panic and instead were the better side in the remaining minutes before extra time and if it wasn't the reflex save from Ochan vipers custodian to deny Bright Amukani in the 87th minute the game would have ended early in normal time.

Walking into extra time with normal  ending one all before Vipers had dominated the first half of the extra time and lady lucky wasn't to smile at them as they missed chances and even hit the woodwork before the second half of extra time .As the game seemed to be drawing to the lotary  of penalties , Vipers collapsed  to  Bonyo's header home from Hakim Kiwanuka’s teasing cross to be bundled out of the Stanbic Uganda Cup 2:1.

Off the pitch as the two sides walked in the dressing room after the game the look on the face of Viper's players and technical staff showed misery ,later Vipers’ trainer Edward Ssali stormed out of the dressing room with his distinctive white bag and teary eyes, he seemed never  satisfied with the effort his players give on the pitch.

Proline now join Kyetume Fc, Express, and Bright Stars as the only sides remaining in the Stanbic Uganda Cup , with each side awaiting for a kind draw to see them progress to the Finals.
